Who we are
Our website address is: https://lur-made.com.
While the focus of our website is Style, DIY, Decor, and Food and Drink, we also focus on, and are committed to, the privacy of our users. The following is an explanation of the various types of interactions and data related to your use of our website and information about how we may use this data.
What personal data we collect and why we collect it
Our website typically collects two kinds of information about you:
- information that you provide that personally identifies you
- information that does not personally identify you that we automatically collect when you visit our website or that you provide to us.
In a few instances, we may require personally-identifiable information in order to use certain features of our services. As an example, we ask for a name and an email address to create an account that will allow you to comment on our website. In other instances, we collect information that does not personally identify you to help improve your experience as a user. As an example, we collect IP addresses of users to identify potentially malicious users such as spammers.
We do not share or sell any of your personally identifiable information with any sponsors or advertisers. We may share non-personally identifiable information with services and advertising networks in order to enhance your user experience and offer advertising that is of interest to you.
The comments section of our site is configured to protect users as well as provide a great user experience. We use services from Automattic.com to detect SPAM in comments and to allow users to use their own avatar on this site. We require users to provide a name and an email address in order to leave a comment. This personally identifiable information is used to enhance your user experience and for us to communicate with you. The name you provide is visible in the comment you leave, but the email address is not. We do not share this information with anyone.
We use Automattic.com’s Akismet anti-spam service which collects information about users who leave comments on the site in order to detect SPAM in those comments. In addition, an anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to determine if you are using it for your own personal avatar. After approval of your comment, your avatar is visible to the public in the context of your comment.
We use Automattic.com’s Akismet anti-spam service which collects information about users who use the Contact form on the site in order to detect SPAM in those contact requests. Aside from the Akismet service, any information you provide in our contact form will be maintained and used by us only to contact you and will not be shared with any other third parties.
A cookie (also called an HTTP cookie, web cookie, Internet cookie, browser cookie, etc) is a small piece of data sent from a website and stored on a user’s computer by the user’s web browser while the user is browsing. (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HTTP_cookie). If you leave a comment on our website, you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website using cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.
- to enable, facilitate and streamline the functioning of our website across different webpages and browser sessions

- to monitor and analyze the performance, operation and effectiveness of our website, so that we can improve and optimize it
- to present you with content that is more relevant to you
Most browsers automatically accept cookies, but you can modify your browser setting to turn off cookies. If you choose to disable cookies, please note that some interactive features of our sites may not function properly.
To opt out of third-party tracking on our website, use the following tools:
You may opt-out of having interest-based information collected during your visits to this or other websites at both the National Advertising Initiative (the “NAI”) opt-out page and the Digital Advertising Alliance (the “DAA”) opt-out page.
You may wish to visit NAI’s Learn More Page to learn more about interest-based advertising and your choices regarding having this information used by third parties and your “opt-out” choices. Opting out through the DAA or NAI only means that those DAA or NAI members will no longer be able to deliver targeted content and/or advertisements to you, which will affect our Website as well as other unaffiliated websites, but does not mean you will no longer receive any targeted content and/or advertisements. Also, if your browsers are configured to reject cookies when you visit these opt-out pages, or you subsequently erase your cookies, use a different computer or change web browsers, your opt-out choices may not, or may no longer, be effective.
If you upload images to the website (not currently supported), you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Users of the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.
Embedded content from other websites
On this website, credit will always be given with a link back for any references, pictures, links, etc. from other sites that are the result of someone else’s hard work. Please reciprocate with the same if references to this site are used elsewhere. Every effort will be made to find the source of a photograph from social media sites and we will never pass off someone else’s content as our own.
Affiliate and Sponsored Marketing
Affiliate links are used on this website to provide the user the opportunity to buy something referenced on this blog. No extra cost is passed onto the purchaser. However, we may be compensated from the sale. This compensation helps fund the operations and maintenance of this website. All products that are donated or posts that are sponsored will be clearly described as such to maintain trust in the products found on this site. In addition, we will only link to products we would consider in our own design process and that we believe will help others in their own designs. We do a lot of research for every project and will often include similar products at different price points in order to provide multiple recommended options for our users.
How long we retain your data
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue. For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.
How we protect your data
Security is extremely important to us. We use industry-standard security practices that we consider appropriate and reasonable to protect information under our control. These practices include using secure socket layers (SSL) technology when you browse our site but also while administrators maintain our website. We also use least privilege access for our administrators, meaning they can only access the information they need to perform their duties. Our service provider takes steps to improve their data processes and other controls they provide to safeguard your data and protect your privacy. Security features and encryption are built into their services to keep data protected at every point.
However, while we take such measures to protect your personally identifiable information and privacy, we cannot guarantee the security of information you disclose or transmit to us online and are not responsible for the theft, destruction or inadvertent disclosure of your personally identifiable information. In the event that your “personally identifiable information” (as the term or similar terms are defined by any applicable law requiring notice upon a security breach) is compromised, we may notify you by email (in our sole and absolute discretion) to the last email address you have provided to us in the most expedient time reasonable under the circumstances; provided, however, delays in notification may occur while we take necessary measures to determine the scope of the breach and restore reasonable integrity to the system, as well as for the legitimate needs of law enforcement if notification would impede a criminal investigation.
